Question and Advertisement


Starting from a collection 270 adverts from streets of China(check it out at @wendyliadiography ) and analyzed how they revealed the collective desire of the society, and how media is enhancing this, accompanied by a series of related essays. This series is aimed at audiences 100 years later, to give them an overview of our society today through advertisements and media we see. The collection contains a pull-out book, a newspaper and a booklet of selected essays, with a carrier bag as packaging.

Pull out book︎︎︎   
A book that has to be pulled out to read. It consists of 250 advertisement found in 2021 China, and categorized into 5 sections according to Maslow's hierarchy of needs. It demonstrates how advertisment targets all aspects of our wants and needs, and how it direct our desires.




Old Newspaper︎︎︎
An extension to the Q&A book, this newspaper contain selection of media coverage about the issues we discussed in the book, accompanied by journalistic images to illustrate our society in more depth. It also includes comments from readers which will demonstrate the common sentiments in the among people.



Selected Essays︎︎︎
A selection of essays discussing about propaganda, advertisement, power relations.



Packaging︎︎︎
As a series of work, they are packaged with a bag made with Tyvek paper which is durable and eco-friendly.
